Changing Proxmox Default User Password

The default user on Proxmox VE is the root, We can change the root user password by using GUI as follows:

• Access the proxmox web interface at https://your server address:8006 or in case of a backup server, use https://backup server IP address:8007.
• At the prompt, enter the username root and then enter your password, and set the realm to Linux PAM standard authentication and login.

• After logging in, select the menu in the top right corner–> select Password, then you are prompted to change the Password.
